Job Description

The Senior Product Manager, Oncology Marketing will be responsible for leading and executing promotional initiatives.

  • Develops and leads key elements of the promotional brand strategy for the metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC) and HR+/HER2-

  • Drives execution of core HCP tactics through the management and partnership with external agencies, internal cross-functional partners, and field sales. Regularly measures the success of initiatives

  • Implements product promotional communication strategy for HCP promotions ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy

  • Gains approval for marketing materials through internal review process including management reviews and Med-Legal-Reg. Secures final production

  • Works cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Leadership Legal, Regulatory, Medical and other key internal stakeholders

  • Analyzes complex brand opportunities and provides logical recommendations; leads any required action planning

  • Provides tactical and strategic input on key launch planning workstreams such as: HCP segmentation, congress planning and sales training

  • Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements

  • Manages the professional marketing budget and project timelines

  • Experience in strategic brand development and in leading brand planning for launch products

  • Experience with core promotion of marketing strategy, sales and regulatory policies and practices

  • Ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans

  • Proven ability in the execution of multiple initiatives within the marketing mix which require tactful cross-functional execution

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to efficiently and productively communicate to a variety of groups and audiences

  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials

  • Ability to successfully work with external agencies, including advertising, public relations and medical education vendors to develop programs and materials

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking

Knowledge:

  • Must have the ability to conduct analysis and use complex analytical tools.

  • Must have a demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities.

  • Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to efficiently and productively communicate to a variety of groups and audiences.

  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials.

  • Strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute development strategy.

  • In-depth ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans.

  • Strong presence with ability to command respect through exercise of sound business judgment and clear decision-making is required.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports.

  • Ability to successfully work with external agencies, including advertising, public relations and medical education vendors to develop programs and materials is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets is required.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Degree and 12+ Years’ Experience

OR

Associates Degree and 10+ Years’ Experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree and 8+ Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and 6+ Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 +years of marketing experience.

  • 1 + year pharmaceutical/biotech marketing

  • Track record of successful pharmaceutical/biotech marketing

  • Previous pharmaceutical/biotech sales are a strong plus

  • MBA or other advanced business degree

  • Recent Therapeutic Area knowledge (Oncology or Rare disease).

  • Hospital/Institutional marketing experience are a plus


The salary range for this position is:

Other US Locations: $153,935.00 - $199,210.00.


Bay Area: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00.


Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
