Manager, PDM FP&A - Technical Development
Job Description
The Finance Manager, PDM FP&A will be a key business partner to the Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) organization; specifically, they will be responsible for providing financial management and value-based business partnering decision support to the Technical Development organization. This position reports to the Sr. Director of PDM FP&A.
Essential Duties and Job Functions
- Support month-end close reporting activities and variance analytics. The Finance Manager will develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers to incorporate into monthly commentaries.
- Support the coordination and delivery of accurate and timely monthly/quarterly business reporting packages. Supports consolidation of Technical Development management reporting packages. Present financial results to business partners.
- Support the bi-annual budgeting and forecasting planning process for each functional area for operating expense / headcount / capital expenditure.
- Pull together detailed actuals by Capital Project (POs / Invoices) to help Project Owners review status of their projects.
- Monthly metrics and tracking of major cost drivers.
- Provide ongoing analytical support to assist management with tactical and strategic decision-making processes.
- Develop a keen understanding of key performance drivers & issues relating to budget and actual results ensuring key issues, risks, and business drivers are understood and highlighted to management.
- Drive continual improvements to processes, systems, financial tools and documentation.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- A BA or BS degree is required, with 6+ years of relevant experience in a financial planning and analysis role or cost accounting, 4+ years of relevant experience with an MBA.
- Experience with project reporting, operational accounting and reporting is required.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills are must.
- Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven, matrixed and multi-task environment.
- Excellent interpersonal (team player / ability to work cross functionally) skills required.
- Familiarity with financial software (Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, Tableau) and proficiency in spreadsheet / workbook and database structures are required.
- Previous manufacturing finance / cost accounting experience in a large multi-country organization a plus.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus.
- MBA degree is preferred.
- CPA / CMA qualification is a plus.
