We are seeking a highly motivated leader to join us as an Associate Director of Operation Excellence. This role will report to the Senior Director of Quality Control and be based in La Verne, CA.

The Associate Director will be responsible for the strategic planning and direction of the site’s Operational Excellence Program. This individual will take the existing Operational Excellence program and adapt it to meet current and future needs by directly managing a small team and partnering with the Senior Leadership Team. The Incumbent, internally known as Associate Director of Business Strategy and Operations, is accountable for business process optimization and cultural transformation that support continuous improvement across functions.

Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Operational Excellence include:

  • Implement end-to-end Value Stream Management for existing and future processes

  • Utilize strategic plans to create tactical plans, key performance metrics, and dashboards that visualize the site’s performance

  • Improve manufacturing performance through appropriate integration and application of continuous improvement tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, DMAIC etc.)

  • Own Operational Excellence portfolio and prioritize improvement projects and initiatives

  • Lead organizational change management to drive the adoption of continuous improvement

  • Provide mentorship to junior Operational Excellence practitioners

In addition to their role on the Business Strategy and Operations leadership team, this individual will be a member of the Extended Leadership Team where they will contribute to development of the manufacturing strategy and the overall governance of performance.

Basic Qualifications:

MBA, MS or Advance scientific degree with 8+ years of Strategy and/or Manufacturing Operations experience OR BS / BA degree with 10+ years of Strategy and/or Manufacturing Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate and coach others under their indirect management

  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of OE tools such as: 8 Wastes / Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Controls, Root Cause Analysis, Kanban, Kaizen events, Mistake-proofing, Standard Work / Leader Standard Work

  • Strong people leader with an excellent ability to communicate with all levels within the organization, listening and influencing to lead change throughout an organization

  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and financial reports, understand, and resolve technical difficulties, interface with internal engineering/technical experts and external technical representatives, and manage multiple priorities

  • Proven ability to lead projects and/or initiatives in matrixed global organizations

  • Proven track record of utilizing operational excellence, lean, or six sigma tools to improve processes and achieve business results

  • Six Sigma Lean Black or Master Black Belt certification strongly preferred
