Job Description

Role Scope

Acts as an individual contributor with significant autonomy
Responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships within a defined geographic area
Represents the company at relevant professional events and engagements as appropriate

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance & Territory Management

  • Achieve coverage, frequency, and sales targets within the assigned territory
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan, including clear objectives and action plans
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed

Customer Engagement & Scientific Exchange

  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and relevant stakeholders
  • Communicate product value through scientifically balanced and compliant discussions
  • Promote the appropriate and responsible use of company products

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate effectively with medical manager, marketing and other internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and ensure alignment on key priorities

Market Insights & Analysis

  • Analyze sales and market data to generate actionable insights
  • Contribute to market understanding and support data-driven decision-making
  • Share insights and best practices with the wider team

Project Leadership & Team Contribution

  • Take ownership of selected projects or initiatives within the team
  • Act as a role model, contributing to a high-performance team culture

Training & Development

  • Contribute to the development of team capabilities through knowledge sharing and training activities
  • Maintain and continuously develop personal product, market, and functional expertise

Operational & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage territory budgets in line with company guidelines
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks, including reporting, CRM updates, and expense management

Compliance

  • Operate in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with internal compliance standards and external regulatory requirements

Knowledge & Competencies

The Senior Therapeutic Specialist demonstrates strong expertise in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales, combined with deep knowledge in breast oncology. With a proven track record of success in competitive markets, the individual applies strong influencing and negotiation skills to drive results.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor activities, and treatment protocols, and is able to critically evaluate the benefits and limitations of different therapeutic options (e.g., efficacy, dosing, duration, cost considerations). Engages in meaningful scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals and asks insightful questions to strengthen understanding.

Serves as a designated technical specialist for assigned products and therapeutic areas, specifically breast oncology and gastroenterology, as well as patient needs, facilitating thorough education and meaningful engagement with key stakeholders.
Proactively identifies business challenges and opportunities, develops appropriate solutions, and communicates recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders, including sales and marketing leadership.

Demonstrates strong understanding of external market dynamics and internal organizational processes, and effectively navigates cross-functional structures to execute business plans.

Works independently with a high level of accountability, demonstrating initiative and ownership in driving performance and results.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required
  • Typically 6–8 years of relevant pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience
  • Minimum of 4 years in specialty sales or within the relevant therapeutic area
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Therapeutic Specialist preferred
  • Completion of Norwegian pharmaceutical sales certifications as required
