Job Description

The Senior Therapeutic Specialist is responsible for driving the commercial success of the liver diseases portfolio across the UAE and Qatar by developing and executing strategic territory and account business plans.
This role requires deep therapeutic expertise, strong customer engagement capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal patient access and appropriate use of treatments. The individual will act as a trusted partner to healthcare stakeholders, contributing to improved disease management and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Territory Strategy & Business Planning

  • Develop and implement a robust territory business plan aligned with country and regional strategies
  • Analyze territory dynamics to identify growth opportunities, access barriers, and key account priorities
  • Lead account planning for key institutions (government hospitals, private centers, specialty clinics)
  • Allocate resources effectively to maximize business impact

2. Portfolio Promotion, Sales Execution & Performance Delivery

  • Responsible for the promotion and performance of a multi-product portfolio, effectively balancing strategic focus across new product launches and established brands to maximize overall territory growth and patient impact.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs (coverage, frequency, Market shares, growth)
  • Monitor performance using data-driven insights and adjust tactics accordingly
  • Execute brand strategies and tactical plans with excellence in the field

3. Scientific Engagement (Liver Disease Focus)

  • Maintain strong scientific and clinical knowledge across liver disease areas (e.g., viral hepatitis, PBC, other hepatology indications as relevant)
  • Deliver high-quality, value-based interactions with healthcare professionals
  • Position products appropriately within treatment pathways, aligned with clinical evidence and guidelines

4. Stakeholder & KOL Management

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including hepatologists, gastroenterologists, pharmacists, and decision-makers
  • Identify and engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to support scientific exchange and market shaping
  • Navigate complex healthcare systems in UAE and Qatar, including institutional pathways and reimbursement environments

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Medical, Marketing, Market Access, and Key Account Management teams
  • Support execution of strategic initiatives, promotional and educational activities
  • Provide field insights to shape brand, access, and medical strategies

6. Leadership & Maturity

  • Demonstrates strong professional maturity with the ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and proactively drive cross-functional alignment, ensuring timely execution of key initiatives and achievement of business objectives.
  • Support capability development and share best practices across the team
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional or regional projects

7. Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in full alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM updates, reporting, and expense management
  • Uphold highest standards of ethical promotion and compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Specialist (or equivalent) in a specialty therapy area within a reputable pharmaceutical company (mandatory requirement)
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets and other related KPIs in competitive markets
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable plans
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is a strong advantage)

Preferred Qualifications (Highly Desirable)

  • Experience in liver diseases / hepatology (e.g., HCV, HBV, PBC or related areas)
  • Prior experience covering UAE and/or Qatar territories with established customer networks
  • Strong understanding of local healthcare systems, access pathways, and key institutions
  • Experience in specialty care environments and complex stakeholder engagement
