Job Description
Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. The Senior Manager, Systems and Process Excellence will report to the Senior Director, Contract Process Excellence within Market Access Operations and will be responsible for supporting the implementation, enhancement, optimization, and governance of key Market Access systems and operational processes. The role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, IT, external vendors, and Market Access Operations teams to ensure systems effectively support business objectives, operational efficiency, compliance requirements, and future business needs.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, experience with revenue management and ancillary systems across the Market Access, demonstrated project management capabilities, and a deep understanding of Market Access business processes. The role will require leadership of system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, business process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives in a complex and rapidly evolving environment. This role will sit in Foster City, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and releases to ensure successful delivery of business objectives and operational requirements.
Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, document, prioritize, and translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
Collaborate with IT, external vendors, and operational teams to evaluate technical solutions, address system gaps, and optimize platform capabilities.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestone tracking, risk assessments, and status reporting for key initiatives.
Direct multiple technical and process improvement initiatives simultaneously while ensuring alignment to business priorities and deadlines.
Facilitate organizational change management activities for implementations, upgrades, and operational process changes, including stakeholder communications, training, and adoption plans.
Lead issue resolution efforts for system defects, data integrity concerns, and operational challenges by coordinating with business teams, IT, and external partners.
Support annual system release planning activities, including impact assessments, testing coordination, deployment readiness, and communication plans.
Perform ongoing evaluation of business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, controls, reporting, and user experience.
Partner with Market Access, Government Pricing, Finance, Compliance, Strategy, & Analytics, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support delivery of business initiatives.
Drive implementation and adoption of operational best practices, governance frameworks, and standardized processes across Market Access Operations.
Assist with compliance, audit, SOX, and validation activities to ensure systems and processes meet applicable corporate and regulatory requirements.
Support portfolio planning and project prioritization efforts by providing business and technical assessments, resource considerations, and implementation recommendations.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and Market Access operational practices to help identify future improvement opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years’ Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Six Years’ Experience
OR
Ph.D.
