Reporting to the RTR Director, Global Financial Solutions (GFS), this role is accountable for the execution and delivery of the Global Financial Statements Programme within GFS, operating within the agreed Controllership and GFS strategy. The role will translate strategic direction into disciplined programme execution, escalating key risks, trade‑offs and decisions as appropriate.

Job requrements:

The development of strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular with market finance teams globally. Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence diverse audiences.

  • End‑to‑end accountability for the oversight and delivery of the Global Financial Statements Programme within GFS. This includes managing the statutory reporting lifecycle for existing entities across multiple jurisdictions, leading the onboarding of new legal entities in line with the financial statements roadmap, and ensuring alignment with local statutory requirements.

  • Provide strong technical accounting oversight in the review of local statutory financial statements, including assessment of complex accounting matters, critical judgements, and consistency of application of accounting policies.

  • Lead the business assessment, requirements definition and deployment of a financial statements technology solution, partnering closely with IT teams, Business Process and Delivery teams, Market Finance, External Advisors, and GFS leadership.

  • Act as the central coordination point for programme delivery, establishing governance structures, managing interdependencies and driving execution within defined scope, timelines and objectives.

  • Maintains ledger integrity and ensures financial compliance with the worldwide Controller’s manual and to all applicable laws and regulations

  • Ensure financial records are in compliance with relevant GAAP. Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies and procedures including Worldwide Controller’s manual

  • Manages, prepares, administers, and directs the accounting close and financial reporting process for the markets within their responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate review of month-end close and accounting transactions; P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation and resolution.

  • Contribute to the strategic focus and lead key priorities of the RTR GFS team

  • Contribution to the definition and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the establishment of a continuous improvement culture

  • Interacts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter-end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communication.

  • Review of tax calculations (VAT, Corporation tax) and oversight of related filings

  • Responsibility for Accounting SOX Compliance and controls for all markets within the GFS

  • Ability to travel is necessary

Knowledge, experience, competencies:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or person with an equivalent accountancy qualification with a fundamental understanding of what it takes to operate within a multi-country RTR environment in a multi-national corporation.

  • Strong technical accounting expertise, with the ability to review and challenge local statutory financial statements across multiple jurisdictions, including complex accounting judgements and alignment between local GAAP and US GAAP.

  • Proven experience overseeing end‑to‑end statutory financial statements processes for a portfolio of legal entities within a multinational environment.

  • Demonstrated capability in assessing, designing, and supporting the deployment of financial reporting or statutory reporting tools to enable a scalable global operating model.

  • Deep understanding of statutory reporting requirements, governance, and control expectations, including interaction with external auditors and advisors.

  • Highly developed coordination and programme management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Market Finance, Technology, and external providers.

  • Strong analytical and judgement skills to identify risks, resolve complex issues, and drive consistent, high‑quality outcomes across a diverse entity landscape.

  • The person we seek will ideally have RTR experience in a similar organization operating in several major countries in Europe, with exposure to the United States and in depth knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures in particular revenue recognition and US GAAP as well as knowledge of Irish statutory and tax reporting requirements.

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, working under pressure and to meet strict reporting deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different cultures

  • Self-starter and able to act on own initiative.

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of SOX Compliance

  • Established experience preferably within a Multinational Company

  • Ability to Interacts successfully with non-financial personnel as well as with internal and external auditors

  • This role requires a flexible and adaptable individual, an individual who has strong peripheral vision to allow them to capture accounting related matters in newly established markets and work closely with the outsource providers to ensure local compliance.

  • Proven analytical ability and creative problem solving skills.

  • Self-driven with high levels of integrity, excellence and teamwork.

  • Working knowledge and experience of Oracle / SAP or similar ERP product would be beneficial

  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required
