Gilead Sciences in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated professional capable of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. The successful candidate will assume an exciting full-time employment role in the capacity of Finance Manager, FP&A.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide range of FP&A activities across the organization. Work can be independent, supporting our FP&A leads, or the Affiliate Finance Director

  • Support the Therapy Area Business Units and the FP&A team in the provision of high impact finance business support throughout the BU P&L.

  • Develop relationships within the local cross-functional teams, and with above-country Finance and Controllership, to support the delivery of financial results aligned to the business strategy and accounting principles

  • Support the development of the Latest Estimate (LE) / Budget Net Revenue forecast. Work with cross-functional team to quantify key assumptions that underpin the forecast, and related risks and opportunities.

  • Support maintainance of models for the accounting and forecasting for the Gross to Net (GTN) revenue adjustments including rebates, co-pay and other adjustments. Support GTN Quarter Close local and above-country reviews.

  • Support BU and Functional execution of Operating Expense budgets. Facilitate reporting and forecasting of Op Ex, and provide timely and accurate monthly variance analyses.

  • Support the FP&A team's maintenance of GTN processes and data to meet SOX and internal control requirements

  • Support all month-end close processes and transactions

  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiencies, and support implementation of regional standardization and automation efforts.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

  • 6+ years of relevant experience. BA/ BS degree in Business or Accounting.

  • CPA or other Canadian Accounting designation

  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures.

  • Experience in a comparable multi-national organization, with experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry a plus.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and interact successfully with non-financial personnel.

  • Ability to build strong partnerships with key business stakeholders and work cross functionally.

  • Demonstrated ability to continuously improve Finance’s impact and influence with the Business

  • Strong communication, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills.

  • A highly collaborative style that works with all levels of leadership.

  • Working knowledge of SAP, or similar integrated software product would be an asset.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-national, changing environment, meeting deadlines in an accurate, detailed and timely manner.
