Job Description
Gilead is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that is committed to discover, develop and commercialize innovative therapeutics in the areas of unmet medical needs. Oncology is one of our key therapeutic areas for future growth.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced marketer to join Gilead as Product Manager-Oncology in the Brazilian affiliate. This newly created position will be based in São Paulo and report into the Business Unit Director.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to develop an integrated marketing strategy and implement a cross-functional plan of action to support the launch of new oncology products into the Brazilian market
Primary responsibilities
- Be responsible for the product’s local strategy and adaptation from global one bringing insights from the market and from main stakeholders
- Lead the development and implementation of integrated plan of action aligned to brand strategy to agreed budget and schedules. This will include driving appropriate Multi-Channel-Marketing activities with a continued eye for innovation in the digital marketing space. Such activities will also include performance and tracking metrics for plan evaluation.
- Demonstrate leadership excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects and priorities, including close working with agencies.
- Member of the Oncology Brand Team to help develop wider cross-functional activities in line with brand strategy.
- Engage with internal peers from medical, access, commercial excellence, external affairs and infield teams to guarantee constantly alignment in creating strategies and innovative initiatives to differentiate Gilead in Oncology
- Develop effective working relationships and effective engagement plans with Medical Oncologists and other key stakeholders (Medical Societies, Big Groups, Payers, Pharmacists, Nurses etc) to strengthen Gilead’s position within the oncology market and represent the company and the product among them.
- Continually monitor environment and leverage market research/analytics and bring insights from the market to optimize marketing plan and tactics.
- Continually monitor product and team performance results and KPIs and collect feedback from them and from main stakeholders to constantly adapt and reshape the strategy and communication plans accordingly.
- Close contact with regional sales manager to follow market dynamics, changes as well as accounts needs to help to address market and accounts needs.
- Develop and be responsible for internal trainees and/or analysts if applicable coaching them and giving them the direction to help with marketing activities.
- Collaborate with Global & other countries sharing local initiatives & contributing to collect insights and develop projects.
- Ensures that all marketing activities are compliant with Gilead Code of Practice and regulations applied to local market.
- Recurrent national & international business trips may represent 30-40% of working time
Knowledge requirements
- Expertise and track record of successful marketing plan development and implementation, budget management and tracking progress of campaigns
- Strong strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy
- Strong team ethic and proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining a strong network of KOLs
- Good analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and then developing appropriate cross-functional solutions
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing are required.
- Advanced planning and organizational skills, including ability to follow tasks/assignments through to completion
- Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required.
Specific education and experience requirements
- Strong marketing experience in specialty care market preferable in oncology is required – mainly in Breast Cancer but not exclusive.
- Strong track record and experience in field roles, such as pharmaceutical sales, is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of oncology landscape in Brazil mainly in private market
- Competent experience of using Microsoft Office products is required
- Digital Marketing experience with specialists – preferably with Oncologists
- Must have a fluent English and Portuguese skills (written and spoken)
