The role

The successful candidate will be a member of a friendly and collaborative legal team where they will have numerous opportunities to be involved in and influence the implementation of new processes in the provision of best practice contracting and broader inhouse legal support. The role will be based in Carrigtwohill, Cork but with the prospect of flexible work arrangements.

The individual will report to the Senior Director, Legal at GSIUC, and key responsibilities will include:

  • Acquiring an in-depth understanding of GSIUC’s manufacturing, distribution and financial shared services operations;
  • Supporting the Sr Manager and Sr Director Legal in their support of GSIUC’s business operations / internal stakeholders on all legal matters, including:
  • Drafting, negotiating and advising (with the support of the wider Legal team) on a wide range of contracts relating to, for example, procurement of goods and services, manufacturing, distribution, software licensing, facilities, and outsourced service provision generally;
  • Supporting the implementation of new contract governance processes, and providing training and user support in relation to the use of our new automated contracts tool;
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent business partnering relationships with key internal stakeholders from departments including Facilities, Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality, together with members of the broader Legal team in other regions;
  • Supporting the Sr Manager and Sr Director of Legal with advice on other general areas of law as queries arise, such as Employment law, GDPR, Health and Safety, litigation;
  • Supporting the Company Secretary with drafting and filing of company secretarial compliance documents;
  • Reviewing and preparing a wide variety of documents including powers of attorney, regulatory submissions and Intercompany agreements;
  • Actively participating in various cross-functional and multi-regional initiatives and projects; and arranging for document execution, notarisation and legalisation.

Experience Required:

  • Qualified lawyer, relevant years PQE.
  • In-house experience acquired in busy legal department a bonus.
  • Generalist with commercial contract experience.
  • Manufacturing experience would be an advantage, as would experience from the pharmaceutical industry.
