We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Supply Chain organization as a Warehouse Material Handling Technician, known internally as a Distribution Specialist I, and support the startup of Kite’s brand new, state of the art, commercial Cell Therapy facility currently under construction in Frederick, Maryland. In this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy, you will assist in the commissioning and operation of a GMP warehouse and inventory management system.
In this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy, the Technician will assist in the maintenance of a GMP/Non-GMP warehouse and inventory management system. In this role, the Technician will perform activities to support manufacturing operations, product shipping, and component receiving to ensure inventory accuracy and timely supply of materials to manufacturing production suites to meet demands.

Responsibilities of the Warehouse Material Handling Technician:
Plan, oversee, and participate in the materials management operations and activities to support Production operations team and other internal customers
Handle the day-to-day assignments of warehouse job tasks and monitor completion of required activities
Receive incoming shipments of non-GMP/GMP materials and equipment following established procedures
Dispense GMP materials to support production operations
Prepare and deliver raw materials, samples, etc. to various departments as needed ensuring proper procedure and temperature range are followed
Maintain accurate inventory of GMP warehouse materials
Perform inventory cycle counts and accurate ERP transactions
Monitor Kanban area to ensure optimum replenishment of materials
Communicate inventory discrepancies to warehouse operations team and bring up when appropriate
Cross-train in all areas of the warehouse operations
Pick, Pack, and Ship materials and equipment as required per established policies and procedures (Not Final Product)
Ensure individual employee training is up-to-date
Adhere to all safety procedures and keep warehouse operation clean and inspection ready
You will become Fork Lift Certified if not already
Basic Requirements:
AA Degree
OR
High School Degree with 1+ years of operations and/or material handling and/or manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
High School diploma and some college or vocational training in science, engineering or facilities preferred
Previous experience in cGMP Logistics, Distribution and Supply Chain
Ability to operate equipment such as a forklift and an electric pallet jack
Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 100 lb. of equipment or supplies
Ability to squat, bend, kneel, climb, and/or reach for 75% of the day
Ability to stand, walk, and/or move about for 75% of the day
In depth knowledge of warehouse operations in a GMP as well as a non-GMP setting
Cold chain knowledge and experience in a pharmaceutical or medical setting
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
