Job Description

The US Integrated Insights team is the data and analytics engine providing insights to support US strategy and execution. The team is a seeking a highly motivated insights champion to lead our efforts on US Market Access Analytics and Insights. Reporting into the Director of US Portfolio Integrated Insights, the individual in this role will encourage the development, execution, and synthesis of primary and secondary research and analytics to support enabling access to CART in the US market. This is a highly collaborative role that will play a critical role in our mission to ensure every eligible patient has access to CART therapy. This is a hybrid role (3 days per week in the office) based in either our HQ in Santa Monica, CA or Foster City, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic thought partnership to the US Health Systems team across pricing, contracting, patient access, reimbursement, and health systems strategy to support expanding the accessibility of CART in the US market
  • Serves as a strategic thought partner and provides analytical support to Access & Pricing stakeholders to aid in development and evaluation of potential contracting strategies
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to design and implement qualitative and quantitative US market research (vendor identification, methodology selection, questionnaire/discussion guide design, summary, presentation of results)
  • Leads the delivery of therapeutic area specific analytical insights in response to market access landscape, issues and trends
  • Consistently delivers timely, actionable insights that guide strategic planning to unlock market potential
  • Identifies access gaps in the CART market and collaborates cross-functionally to devise potential solutions to address said gaps
  • Develops and implements key performance indicators and metrics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of market access strategies. Collaborates with cross-functional partners to identify appropriate data sources for measurement and set KPI targets.  
  • Develops and delivers quarterly and annual insights plans aligned to business goals with key stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and 8+ years of experience OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience OR

  • High School Degree and 14+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or quantitative discipline
  • MBA or MS in a quantitative or engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech analytics and/or strategy
  • 6+ years of experience in market access data, strategy, insights, and/or operations
  • Significant experience in oncology, hematology, and/or rare diseases
  • Deep understanding of the US payer and market access landscape. Prior experience in a range of market access and pricing research and analytical methods.
  • Demonstrated understanding in organized customer and market access issues with meaningful customer and patient orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and complete assignments with accuracy and within established time frames.
  • Ability to independently perform primary and secondary data metrics.
  • Highly effective in influencing decision-making in a matrixed organization. Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders, and guide decision making.
  • Highly efficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to develop and present findings in a strategic and concise manner.
  • Experience working on cross functional teams to obtain project deliverables.
  • Experience with systems investigation and root cause analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to collaborate with employees at all levels

The salary range for this position is: $173,910.00 - $225,060.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
