Job Description

At Gilead, the Digital Strategy role plays a critical role for digital transformation, a strategic thought partner to our brands, and focuses on delivering a superior digital experience to our customers in the US. Within the Digital Strategy and Customer Experience team, the Associate Director, Digital Strategy is responsible for planning, measuring, and optimizing omni-channel efforts in collaboration with brand teams. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure plans are aligned with the overall marketing and business strategy.

The Associate Director, Digital Strategy is at the forefront of revolutionizing omni-channel within Gilead US and feels comfortable compliantly pushing boundaries. This role entails breaking down silos and fostering cross-team collaboration to deeply understand audiences and align digital experiences with our core business objectives. As a strategic influencer both horizontally and vertically, you will define and drive change while inspiring cross-functional teams. Your role will encompass identifying innovative opportunities within the digital health landscape, ensuring regulatory compliance, and crafting digital experience strategies that enhance satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy.

Specific Responsibilities and skills

  • Strategize and implement a cohesive way of working that transcends organizational silos, fostering collaboration across teams to ensure digital strategies align with business objectives.

  • Exercise influential leadership both horizontally and vertically within the organization. Define strategy, drive transformative change, and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate as a Business Partner, aligned with Therapeutic Areas and digital capabilities, to ensure that digital strategies are driving business.

  • Identify opportunities for digital health innovation and take the lead in developing and implementing digital health strategies that elevate patient outcomes and experiences, all while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with brand teams and cross-functional teams to identify pain points and opportunities for improvements in the customer journey, aligning these with overarching business strategies.

  • Support the development of measurement plans centered around objectives that offer profound insights into customer behavior, preferences, and needs. Evaluates optimization opportunities to improve the customer experience in digital and sharing recommendations with stakeholders.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to pinpoint opportunities for improving the customer journey, enhancing customer satisfaction, and fostering customer loyalty and advocacy.

  • Collaborate closely with brand teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in the digital space.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for digital strategy, internal processes, and systems relevant to digital marketing.

  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing Operations team to drive the development of capabilities, requirements, SOPs, rollout strategies, and training initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Eight Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital strategy.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience working with digital channels such as web, email, display, social, search, programmatic, and video.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data and make strategic recommendations.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex data and insights to various stakeholders.

  • Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to formulate and align stakeholders on comprehensive strategies.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements related to US pharmaceutical marketing, including FDA regulations and guidelines.

  • Experience in developing digital strategies and campaign across HCP & Patient, with launch experience a plus. Experience in HIV and/or Liver indications preferred.

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as telehealth, wearables, digital therapeutics, and generative AI is a plus

  • Familiarity with the following is also a plus: Sales Force Marketing Cloud, NPI data, audience pool data, orchestrated campaigns, 1st party data and cookie consequences.

The salary range for this position is: $191,335.00 - $247,610.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
