Clinical Budgeting/Finance, Senior Associate

Responsibilities:

  • Manage wide spectrum of financial activities for multi-phase clinical studies under different Therapeutic Areas, including forecasting, study budgets development, supplier contract financial terms validations, vendor management, quarterly accrual confirmations and variance analysis
  • Provide financial and operational support to Clinical Operations Team across multi-phase Clinical Studies with emphasis on CRO and specialty vendors management and financial operations
  • In partnership with Clinical Operations teams routinely gather study specific updates within assigned therapeutic and functional areas to minimize spend fluctuations and to ensure forecast accuracy
  • Responsible for Quarterly Financial Review Analysis, accruals, Budget vs. Actuals variances for vendor services
  • Perform high volume of financial activities with numerous clinical service providers (CRO, Specialty Labs, Imaging, Biomarkers, etc.) which requires deep attention to detail, a high level of organization, and aptitude to understand and utilize multiple financial systems and tools
  • Provide Clinical Operations teams with insight into potential financial impact caused by specific study changes, extensions to assist them to make the most effective strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Clinical Operations, and Financial Planning & Analysis Group (FP&A) on Portfolio Planning during semi-annual Forecast cycles
  • Work with Purchasing & Accounts Payable partners on escalated issues, delays, and discrepancies resolution
  • Responsible for Quarterly Financial Review Analysis, accruals, Budget vs. Actuals variances for vendor services
  • Manage review and approval process for a high volume of invoice across multiple therapeutic areas

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree and 3+ years of finance/budgeting or related experience in biotech/pharma industry  - OR -
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of finance/budgeting or related experience in biotech/pharma industry   - OR  -
  • High School Degree and 9+ years of finance/budgeting or related experience in biotech/pharma industry   

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel
  • Oracle or other major ERP platforms
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced environment with ability to adapt quickly to frequent changes
