The Role:
To contribute to the Pharmacovigilance Science team within Kite Safety and Pharmacovigilance. The main deliverables of the PV Science team are authoring of safety reviews, analyzing adverse events for the purpose of identifying any new risks, and authoring aggregate reports for submission to Regulatory Authorities.
The individual in this intern position will be responsible for managing timelines for the above deliverables, for applying science-based methods for analyses, and for communicating the data and conclusions in oral and written presentations. The individual will be mentored by a member of the PV Science team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Analysis of Safety data (adverse events and case reports) with a view to determine causality
- Authoring of Safety documents including safety reviews for signal detection
- Authoring of aggregate reports for regulatory authorities
- Presentation of data to Safety and PV colleagues
Basic Qualifications for Graduate Intern:
- Be at least 18 years or older
- A minimum GPA of 2.8
- Eligible to work in the United States without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
- Currently enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at an accredited U.S. based university/college
- Completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing
- Enrolled full-time in the Fall Semester at an accredited U.S. based university/college after the completion of the internship – with earliest graduation date of December 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025
- Able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August
- Able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship
- Not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in Graduate Degree with emphasis in Biological Science, Pharmacology or Healthcare
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams in fast pace, dynamic team setting
- Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience and/or interest in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or health-care industry
- Knowledge and understanding of Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP) and regulatory policies
- Interest in science and data analysis
- Ability to write clearly with attention to detail
