Job Description

Kite Pharma is seeking a talented and highly motivated LIMS Specialist to join the LIMS team. The LIMS Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the support and development of Kite's LabVantage Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), currently in use in our manufacturing sites in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands and California, USA. The role will serve as the primary technical support contact for the Hoofddorp site and will additionally provide remote support for the California sites during overlapping working hours. The role is with high visibility and high customer-touch, so an upbeat, positive attitude combined with a passion for delivering first in class support is essential to success. This role will reside at our Hoofddorp facility. The successful applicant is independent, a great communicator, and can thrive working in an international cross-site team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provide primary technical support for our end users of Kite’s LIMS in a GxP environment for Europe and North America as needed.
  • Ensure corporate alignment and communication in relation to Kite’s LIMS system
  • Provide administration and development of functionality for Kite’s LIMS system
  • Assist in integrating laboratory equipment with the LIMS system
  • Collaborate with internal business- and IT teams to assist creating new master data as necessary
  • Perform technical impact assessments
  • Provide status and reporting on support related issues to the KLIMS system/support manager in a timely fashion.
  • Perform root cause analysis as needed
  • Escalate issues appropriately to the internal and external Kite’s LIMS support team
  • Identify and own support process improvements
  • Provide P1/P2 level on call support for Kite’s LIMS program
  • Assist in vulnerability quarterly patching
  • Document Knowledge Base articles as needed
  • Open/manage SPARC (IT service management system) tickets as necessary
  • Execute Installation Qualifications and validation protocols as needed
  • Provide technical input for drafting Installation Qualifications and validation protocols

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience supporting a LIMS system (ex. LabVantage, LabWare)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
  • Strong understanding of ITIL methodology
  • Strong and proven customer focus and interaction
  • Experience building master data
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (GxP)
  • Ability to work as a member of a global cross-site team

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting JBOSS applications
  • Understanding of Microsoft virtual server environment
  • ANSI/ISA-95 understanding

  • B.S. in scientific or technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ year IT experience
  • Experience supporting a clinical, healthcare, biopharma or regulated IT environment (GxP)
  • Service Now ticketing system (SPARC)
  • LabVantage 8.4 experience preferred
  • JIRA
  • Demonstrated experience meeting tight timelines
