We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Lab Ops Tech II of Sample Management team in our commercial cell therapy production center located in El Segundo CA. In this role, you will work within the Quality Control Department in supporting our efforts in this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy. You will be responsible to manage QC samples from manufacturing for QC testing, to maintain lab equipment operation and to support for business operations.

Working hours: 0600 to 1630, Sunday through Wednesday.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform QC sample receipt, processing and distribution for testing and storage
  • Perform Cryo-sample transfer, disposition, and shipment
  • Perform inventory of lab supplies and materials
  • Support on-the job training for junior staff
  • Troubleshoots standard issues and identify when a deviation from standard process occurs
  • Gather metric information for use in continuous improvement of areas of responsibility
  • Perform QC review of documentation such as sample COC and logbooks
  • Participate and support in ad-hoc projects or other duties as needed
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company policy, SOPs, WIs and specifications
  • Shift hours are flexible within seven days each week, overtime, weekend and holiday work

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA and 1+ years experience OR
  • HS and 2+ years experience
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift 25 lbs. and

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences
  • Experience working with dry ice and LN2 freezers
  • Experience working in regulated Pharmaceutical or Biotech environments or similar role experience are plus.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GDP, SOPs and quality control processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in this collaborative work environment.
  • Experience with sample chain of custody, general lab procedures such as operating centrifuges, working in a Biological Safety Cabinet.
  • Experience with inventory and laboratory information management systems such as LabVantage (LIMS) or similar.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications.

* This Position qualifies for a $8,000 Sign-on Bonus, $4,000 payable within 30 days of start date and $4,000 payable following 6 months of continuous employment. Payments are subject to a 1-year repayment agreement from date of payment issue.  Applies to external hires only.
