An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Team as a Therapeutic Specialist in the Scotland & North East Territory. The focus will be on specialised secondary care healthcare practitioners who provide treatment to patients with Invasive Fungal Infections (IFI), Hepatitis (C&D) and Covid 19.
Specific responsibilities
- Responsible for achieving planned account activity and consistently achieving sales targets in assigned territory.
- Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures.
- Effectively plans to use all channels available to enable Omni-channel approach aligned to customer’s needs.
- Represent Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base within a specific geographic area.
- Utilise a level of product and therapeutic disease working knowledge to compliantly promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals.
- Develop territory X-Functional Account Plans and utilise internal systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
- May represent company at professional events and promote company products at such events.
- Works cooperatively with Medical Scientists, Market Access Managers, Community Marketing, and other internal Gilead team members on various cross-functional projects related to specific projects, accounts or physicians.
- Works as an individual contributor whilst supporting the team goals and objectives.
- Builds and extends business relationships with key customers and accounts.
- Completes necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner as defined by internal standards e.g. updating customer database, expenses, reporting etc.
- Responsible for achieving & maintaining the competency levels required in the role.
- Operate in compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies.
Knowledge, experience and skills
- The ideal candidate will have a passion and the ambition for commercialising breakthrough medicine in specialty care, a strong competitive and commercial mindset, robust scientific acumen, and a tactical approach.
- Previous specialist hospital sales experience is essential and Haematology/Liver disease experience is highly preferable.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with a general level of autonomy and independence.
Must have proven expertise in building interpersonal relationships, along with strong influencing and negotiating skills. - Must demonstrate solid analytical skills, be able to identify and understand moderate to complex issues and problems, as well as being able to interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to management and specialists.
- Must be able to work in cross-functional teams.
- Must be comfortable to work across different channels with customers i.e. In person, via video, or using Veeva Approved emails for follow up.
- Must be ABPI qualified.
- Typically possesses a degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent nursing background with relevant selling experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Territory: Scotland and the North East of England (NE England only for IFI and Covid-19)
