About Kite

Kite is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development of innovative cancer immunotherapies with a goal of providing rapid, long-term durable response and eliminating the burden of chronic care. The company is focused on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and T cell receptor (TCR) engineered cell therapies designed to empower the immune system's ability to recognise and kill tumours. Finance - Accounting Manager

The Netherlands Finance team has an exciting opportunity for an Finance Cost Accounting Manager to be based in Amsterdam. With the expansion of the operation we are building the Finance capability for supporting the Manufacturing and Operations business for Kite Pharma Europe (aka TechOps). In a fast speed and entrepreneurial setting you will be responsible for the Cost Accounting role for the European manufacturing activities as well as driving data integrity and compliance. In this role you will be given the opportunity to support the development and growth of Kite Pharma Europe.

The Cost Accountant reports to the Finance Director, interacts with local Manufacturing, Supply chain and Quality functions at all levels and manages key relationships within the US FP&A and Corporate Accounting team, Finance Shared Services and PDM Centers of Excellence (CoE).

Job Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data to determine costs of manufacturing and business activity such as raw material purchases, labor, overhead and allocations
  • Analyze Manufacturing Variances such as PPV, Material usage variance, labor / resource variance etc
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory transactions within Oracle, to ensure they are done on a timely manner and in accordance with the policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for month end close to ensure inventory and COGS are booked accurately, performing inventory reconciliation and other month end activities
  • Prepare Inventory reserve and work closely with site supply chain team for scrap analysis
  • Prepare various financial reports, such as site P&L report, scrap report, etc, and work closely with different team on analyzing actuals/variances and business drivers
  • Responsible for standard cost calculation and update for Raw material and Finished Goods
  • Conduct physical inventory count and monitor cycle count program
  • Participate in various projects, such as new product launch, new country launch, new manufacturing process implementation etc
  • Key user for ERP system Costing module
  • Supporting internal financial & operational controls and external audits
  • Provide direction, policy guidance and issue resolution to business partners as needed; support business in understanding all inventory and costing related matters as required
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to deliver in a complex, fast speed, multi-task environment
  • Ability to effectively manage a wide variety of relationships
  • Advanced Excel skills is necessary
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English.

Typical Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant experience and BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in inventory and cost accounting is a plus
  • Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus
  • Experience in multi-national organization a plus
  • Strong knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP is a plus
  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA/CPA qualification is a plus
