The Role
Kite Development Strategic Operations Project Managers are dedicated to driving the development pipeline and functional initiatives to deliver results within budget and on-time. The intern will gain exposure to all three pillars of project management: time, scope and cost management for managing clinical trials and special projects within Development. This exposure will teach the process of drug development, study timeline management, how to prepare for a budget review within an organization. The individual intern will partner with a DSO PM and will have exposure and interactions with cross-functional development teams including finance, clinical operations, regulatory, clinical development, technical operations and clinical supply.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist in the development of clinical trial and special projects timelines
Assists with tracking and maintenance of timelines, budgets, action items, project plans, reports, and other project documents.
Assist in the preparation for the development budget review process
Assist in the development of presentation materials for governance meetings. May be requested to present status of projects to project management team and various leadership teams.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years or older
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
Must be currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program at an accredited university/college
Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing
Must be enrolled in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship - graduation date of December 2022 or Spring/Summer 2023
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without Kite sponsorship
Must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination prior to start of the internship
Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between June and September
Must be able to work remotely or relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred degrees include Computer Science, Engineering, or any other data-focused, science, or communication discipline
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, strong background with Microsoft Excel (creation/familiarity with pivot tables)
Experience with SAP, C++, Python, R, or any object-oriented programming language that you’ve used to build internal automated reports
Familiarity with Tableau and/or Spotfire to be able to improve upon existing reports
Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively/Ability to work in collaborate in cross functional teams in fast pace, dynamic team setting
Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
Experience and/or interest in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or health-care industry and able to articulate why you are interested in this career path
