Job Description

The Role

Kite Development Strategic Operations Project Managers are dedicated to​ driving the development pipeline and functional initiatives to deliver results within budget and on-time​.  The intern will gain exposure to all three pillars of project management: time, scope and cost management for managing clinical trials and special projects within Development. This exposure will teach the process of drug development, study timeline management, how to prepare for a budget review within an organization. The individual intern will partner with a DSO PM and will have exposure and interactions with cross-functional development teams including finance, clinical operations, regulatory, clinical development, technical operations and clinical supply.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist in the development of clinical trial and special projects timelines

• Assists with tracking and maintenance of timelines, budgets, action items, project plans, reports, and other project documents.

• Assist in the preparation for the development budget review process

• Assist in the development of presentation materials for governance meetings.  May be requested to present status of projects to project management team and various leadership teams.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years or older

• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8

• Must be currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program at an accredited university/college

• Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing

• Must be enrolled in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship - graduation date of December 2022 or Spring/Summer 2023

• Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between June and September

• Must be eligible to work in the US and will not require future sponsorship by Kite, a Gilead Company

• Must be able to work remotely or relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship

• Must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination 3 months prior to start of internship

• Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred degrees include Computer Science, Engineering, or any other data-focused, science, or communication discipline

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, strong background with Microsoft Excel (creation/familiarity with pivot tables)

• Experience with SAP, C++, Python, R, or any object-oriented programming language that you’ve used to build internal automated reports

• Familiarity with Tableau and/or Spotfire to be able to improve upon existing reports

• Ability to identify issues and seek solutions

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively/Ability to work in collaborate in cross functional teams in fast pace, dynamic team setting

• Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment

• Experience and/or interest in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or health-care industry and able to articulate why you are interested in this career path
