The Associate Director (AD) of Trade Relations and Operations is a critical role within Kite's Commercial organization, responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of trade operations to ensure efficient and compliant access to our life-saving therapies. In this role, you will manage the existing 3PL distributor relationship, lead continuous improvements efforts, and be responsible for state licensing activities. This individual will be a key driver in streamlining distribution channels, strengthening partnerships, and maximizing the value of distribution service agreements. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the rapidly evolving CAR-T market access and trade landscape with one of the leading companies in the space.
Responsibilities:
The AD of Trade Relations and Operations will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Government Pricing, and Patient Services, to:
Manage Trade Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day management of Kite's 3PL distributor relationship, including facilitating regular operational reviews and identifying areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain comprehensive SOPs for all trade operations, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Manage state licensing issuance and renewals, ensuring compliance with all applicable state regulations.
Serve as the subject matter expert for trade operations during internal and external audits, including those related to the CMS 340B program.
Optimize Distribution and Channel Partnerships:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve order processing issues and errors efficiently.
Identify and evaluate emerging trends within the competitive landscape and customer preferences to inform strategic decision-making.
Drive Performance and Growth:
Cultivate and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including 3PL distributors.
Contribute to the development and execution of trade strategies to support new product launches and expand market access
Basic Qualifications:
Advanced scientific degree (i.e. MD, PharmD, PhD) and 5+ years of experience OR
Master’s Degree and 8+ years of experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience OR
Associate’s Degree and 12+ years of experience OR
High School Degree and 14+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years direct operational role experience within trade, supply chain, commercial operations, logistics, manufacturing, and/or quality operations within highly regulated, pharmaceutical environments
Demonstrated experience in developing and executing trade and distribution operations in hematology/oncology, ideally with cell therapy products.
Extensive understanding of the hematology/oncology business and the unique challenges and opportunities associated with cell therapy.
Knowledge of government pricing programs relevant to cell and gene therapy products, such as the CMS 340B program.
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional partners to develop creative solutions in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing process improvements and system enhancements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize and interpret business issues/opportunities and make sound business judgments.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
