Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence to support global Competitive Intelligence (CI) activities in support of Kite’s early cell therapy pipeline. In this role, you will collaborate with a broad cross-functional group of stakeholders to collect, synthesize, and deliver key insights about the competitive environment and implications to Kite’s pipeline.

This role will report to the Director of Competitive Intelligence and be based at Kite’s HQ in Santa Monica, CA but a remote arrangement may be considered, and include travel to HQ (2-3X per quarter).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pipeline competitive landscape assessments and assist with due diligence in close collaboration with corporate development and other early pipeline cross-functional colleagues

  • Collaborate closely with Global Insights & Analytics to provide competitor assumptions for long range planning forecast

  • Serve as a key partner to early development teams for existing pipeline assets to monitor competitor evolution

  • Collaborate with the Kite CI team and cross-functional stakeholders, including Commercial, Business Development, Corporate Development, Medical Affairs, Clinical, Research, Regulatory, Legal, and Senior Leadership to define objectives and research needs

  • Serve as a leader within new and existing stakeholder groups to form an aligned internal point of view on competitive activities that impact the pipeline

  • Follow predefined standards to ensure legal and ethical approaches to CI, protecting business interests and confidentiality in select situations and work to improve processes

  • Up to 30% business travel

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree and 6+ years of experience OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of experience OR

  • High School Degree and 12+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Competitive Intelligence work experience

  • Understanding of the hematology / oncology and/or cell therapy clinical landscape (3+ years of experience)

  • Demonstrated leadership in a complex cross-functional environment

  • Strong knowledge regarding the drug development and commercialization process to assess and contextualize competitive efforts

  • Demonstrated ability to perform competitive analyses and extract business insights

  • Ability to interpret and synthesize pre-clinical and clinical scientific data and identify broader implications for our programs and / or specific opportunities

  • History of independence in researching, formulating, and delivering CI assessments (including basic information as well as strategic insights based on that information)

  • Experienced with using online data sources and scientific / market databases (e.g., Pubmed, clinicaltrials.gov, TrialTrove, Evaluate Pharma, etc.)

  • Proven ability to present at and facilitate small group and large group meetings (with peers as well as superiors) to achieve pre-defined objectives

  • Excellent task management skills (specifically project planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution)
