We are seeking a Director, Global Value Access Strategy (GVAS). This role reports to the Senior Director, GVA lead for Yescarta Lymphoma early assets, and will be located at Kite’s US headquarters in Santa Monica, CA.
In this position, you will be the GVA lead in two key teams of Kite’s Cell Therapy Operational Model for in-line and early assets:
- The Global YESCARTA brand team, where you will be developing the global market access strategy to support the overall brand plan together with the key commercialization functions of Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Technical Operations.
- The early CD-19 CAR T Program Team (PT), where you will partner with development, regulatory, and program strategy leads to decide on the asset’s life cycle and development strategy.
Kite operates in a Regional Market Access operating model, with regional colleagues focused on Access implementation and support of the affiliates. In this position, you will work with our Regional Market Access and HEOR partners (US, ACE, Rest of World) to support the affiliates, develop the V A strategy, and gather insights to communicate to the Global cross functional team.
Responsibilities:
Key Market Access representative and lead in the Program Teams (PT) for Kite’s lymphoma early asset
In the Program Teams (PT), you will be partnering with the commercialization functions of medical affairs, commercial, and tech ops as well as development, regulatory, and program strategy to decide on our products’ life cycle and development strategy
Analyze future market access trends and competitor entry and advise the PT on access-relevant endpoints, study designs, and magnitude of effect to be targeted to achieve reimbursement. The focus will be on Kite’s major markets of US, Australia, Canada, EU-5 (ACE-7), and Japan. You will inform development plans to ensure that Kite pursues evidence generation plans that are meeting payer needs and ultimately, Kite’s commercial ambitions
Provide input into clinical development programs to capture value, align to what is meaningful to patients, support a differentiated target product profile (TPP), and ensure the right evidence is collected to support future reimbursement and pricing negotiations
Accountable for the market access and payer perspective to be reflected in cross functional strategies (product development, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, commercial)
Lead Global Value and Access PT Sub-team discussion, collect insights from the Kite regions, and align on Market Access positioning
Inform the long-range financial forecast in collaboration with regional colleagues
Partner with Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR), Real-World Evidence (RWE), and Global Marketing to ensure meaningful target product profiles are developed and evidence plans are optimized to support market access and reimbursement
Identify global HEOR evidence requirements and gaps; coordinate with HEOR to develop studies, models, and resources to support value demonstration and product differentiation for assigned indication(s)
Contribute to the development of pricing strategies for the pipeline
Conduct Early Health Technology Assessment (HTA) consultations on development programs as appropriate
Basic Qualifications
Advanced scientific degree (i.e., MD, PharmD, PhD) and 8+ years of experience OR
Master’s Degree and 10+ years of experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of experience OR
High School and 14+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in a healthcare, business, or economic field preferred (PhD, MD or MBA)
Demonstrated experience in a healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry, or related consulting services
Extensive understanding of the Global hematology / oncology market access landscape, the business of cell therapy and healthcare system dynamics
Detailed knowledge of payer systems, pricing and reimbursement mechanisms, decision-makers, and payer stakeholder behavior for relevant markets (US, EU5, Japan)
Ability to critically analyze price /reimbursement / access potential for current products, pipeline assets, and competitor products
Knowledge of HTA assessments including value frameworks utilized, methodologies, trends, and drivers in relevant markets
Ability to guide the development plan and lead inputs based on payer requirements / market access trends
Excellent communication skills and experience in presenting at senior committees
Intellectual curiosity and ability to spot trends and patterns
Ability to collaborate successfully and cooperatively with colleagues across multiple cultures and time-zones
