Job Description

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As a Senior Director Community Liaison Marketing, you will report to the Executive Director of Franchise Marketing and will play a key role in leading the strategy development and execution for the CL team across the HIV portfolio. You will partner closely with the US Treatment and PrEP marketing teams to ensure alignment and coordination of AHCP marketing and CL strategies and tactics. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the HIV CL marketing strategy.

  • Develop and deliver all CL deployed resources and programs, including the above brand and brand-level assets, for CL team utilization while ensuring alignment and coordination across brand and franchise teams.

  • Develop and maintain a foundational Plan of Action (POA) for the CL team to support national objectives; drive adoption of local and regional POAs tailored to the varying needs of CL customers across regions.

  • Support strategic plan development and implementation for the CL and associated matrix teams.

  • Establish the foundation to map and prioritize CL Accounts. Work to prioritize account activity in alignment with HIV business priorities.

  • Develop and deploy CL IC (Incentive Compensation) closely with sales analytics and CL ERD.

  • Partner with DTP and DTC brand marketing leads in developing and deploying CL channel deployed patient/consumer tactics.

  • Work closely with the CL Nation to solicit input into marketing plans throughout the year and serve as a marketing liaison for CL working groups

  • Provide managerial oversight to the CL marketing team to pull through CL strategy, resources, program execution, sponsorships, and related operations.

  • Lead all planning and program implementation for CL Marketing programs and national, mid-cycle, and mid-year meetings.

  • Lead marketing agency partners to deliver effective content and tools for CL pull-through.

  • Build and maintain a strong foundation of HIV market knowledge, product understanding and CL customer needs and associated implications and opportunities.

  • Oversee budget for CL marketing

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Fourteen Years’ Experience or
Masters' Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience or

PhD and Twelve Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields is required, and an advanced degree such as an MBA is desirable.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical marketing with experience in HIV is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the AHCP customer with experience in the HIV community preferred.

  • Prior people management experience preferred.

  • Must possess excellent strategic thinking skills to formulate, develop, and execute strategy.

  • Organizational skill, including the ability to follow assignments through to completion (bias towards execution)

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop, and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans.

  • Superior project management skills and effective management of multiple projects/priorities.

  • Proven track record as an effective leader, coach, and internal consultant with a demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and turn that analysis into strategic solutions.

  • Advanced management skills, including training, performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, recruitment and selection, meeting management, and plan execution.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports.

  • Excellent communication skills, highly competent presenter, able to gain credibility, engender trust and influence all levels, strong partnering skills, bias for action and tangible results.

  • Established interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines.

  • Poses a strong executive presence with the ability to command respect through sound business judgment and clear decision-making.

  • Ability to translate market research findings into actionable insights and tactical plans.

  • Must be able to successfully perform complex budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting.

  • ·Successfully develop external relationships leading to brand advocacy.

The salary range for this position is: $255,425.00 - $330,550.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
