Job Description
Responsibilities:
Design, Improve & Roll-out Operational Processes: Assess and address operational inefficiencies within the G. Ecosystem; collaborate with key stakeholders to design and implement process enhancements.
Data-Driven Solutions and Roadblock Removal: Analyze operational data to detect systemic trends and execute data-driven solutions aimed at removing obstacles and boosting team efficiency.
Strategic Initiative Oversight: Oversee and lead the implementation of key initiatives, ensuring projects adhere to timelines, objectives, and defined success metrics.
Training & Toolkit Development and Delivery: Develop and conduct training sessions as well as team effectiveness toolkits related to Gilead’s operating model to build/elevate leaders and teams’ competencies and standardize practices across teams.
Change Management: Leverage subject matter expertise to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions and collaborate with other functions on implementation. Ensure robust stakeholder management, communication, and change management plans are in place for all projects.
G.Ecosystem Management and Updates: Lead development and updates of specific sections of the G.Ecosystem operating model and related resources (e.g., handbooks, training materials) and ensure consistent implementation across Gilead’s organization (including Development, Commercial, PDM, Research, Corporate Affairs, Finance, etc.).
Facilitation of Workshops and Team Activities: Lead/coach, develop, and facilitate workshops and team activities that drive engagement and align with strategic objectives.
Culture of Innovation and Leadership: Coach and empower courageous leadership as well as champion a culture that fosters innovation, encouraging new ideas, growth mindset and supporting cross-departmental collaboration.
Advisory on Complex Challenges: Provide strategic guidance on addressing complex organizational challenges and introducing new approaches at both the team and enterprise-levels. Evaluate risks associated with organizational challenges, including the impact to G.Ecosystem stakeholders, and develop mitigation plans appropriately.
Innovative thinking: Conceive new and novel approaches and ideas that significantly advance business and team outcomes.
Building a Community of Leaders: Foster the development of a vibrant community of leaders across the G.Ecosystem by creating forums, peer-learning opportunities, and regular networking sessions. Encourage knowledge sharing, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen leadership at all levels.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree with 15+ Years or Master’s Degree/PhD with 12+ years of experience in leadership roles in the pharma industry.
Previous leadership and team coaching experience.
Preference for experience at top tier consulting firm.
PMP, change management, or Six Sigma/Lean certifications are a plus.
Previous experience in multiple biopharma functions, e.g., Development, Commercial, Research, Corporate.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence across matrixed, global organizations, responding quickly to change and adapting/operating in ambiguous environments.
Proven ability to coach team leaders and teams to strengthen leadership skills, improve collaboration, and drive operational excellence. This includes designing and facilitating targeted coaching sessions, both internally and in partnership with external experts, to accelerate leadership growth and bring in diverse perspectives.
Proven track record in a leadership role with deep expertise in team effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to lead people with and without authority.
Advanced meeting facilitation, organizational, and communication skills with executive presence.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking. Demonstrated ability to challenge business processes and propose effective solutions to problems.
Multi years of experience leading high-complexity, large-scale, cross-functional initiatives, complex process improvements, and operating model enhancements.
