Gilead Sciences has an opportunity for an experienced candidate in our Process Development group at our Headquarters in Foster City, CA. We are seeking motivated, team-oriented individuals to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently support operations for Gilead's small molecule API pilot plants and kilo labs.

  • Prepare and support API program needs by way of producing NCE’s (new chemical entities).

  • Operate and clean all Pilot Plant and Kilo Lab equipment in a safe and GMP-compliant manner.

  • This will include heating and cooling reactors, operating pumps and vacuum pumps for chemical transfers, distillations, filtrations and drying.

  • Maintain a high level of GMP compliance through documentation of operations, and training.

  • Utilize an electronic materials management system for labelling, trafficking/staging of raw materials/intermediates from the warehouse for ultimate use in the Pilot Plant.

  • Execute engineering studies and support IOQ activities to maintain GMP compliance with new or re-qualified equipment.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by performing regular safety inspections and taking corrective actions.

  • Report all accidents, incidents or near misses, and promote safety at all times.

  • Attend all relevant Master Batch Records and Safety Summary Review meetings, and ensure that each procedure is safely executed in the Pilot Plant or Kilo Lab.

Specific Education & Experience Requirements:

  • AA degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience
