Gilead Sciences is looking for a Finance Manager – FP&A Clinical to join our FP&A team in Foster City, CA. In this important role, you will partner with Clinical Operations to support clinical spend. To achieve this, you will work closely with the Therapeutic Area Clinical Ops team, driving the forecast and budget process, performing month-end close, helping with decision support and analysis, and producing management reporting.

What you will do

  • Establish strong business partnerships with the Clinical operations team to provide comprehensive financial support and ongoing analytics for clinical study spend.

  • Lead the month-end close and Latest Estimate forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Drive development of meaningful financial analyses and create effective presentations to communicate conclusions and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Drive development and implementation of key process improvement initiatives. Proactively engage with Finance colleagues and business partners to develop continuous process improvements to planning, analyses and reporting.

  • Support financial analysis and reporting for Development collaborations with external companies.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures, including Financial Disclosures for regulatory filings.

  • Ad hoc analyses as needed.

This includes providing guidance on project scope and timelines, integrating the work of multiple teams into project deliverables, and ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or BA is required, and an MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, having held positions of increasing scope and responsibility. 4+ years of experience with an MBA degree.

  • Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with familiarity in Oracle, Hyperion, and Tableau preferred.

  • Experience with project reporting, operational accounting and reporting is required.

  • Prior experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry supporting R&D is strongly preferred.

  • Solution oriented, with good analytical capabilities.

  • Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven and multi-task environment.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as an effective member of our team.
