Kite is excited to announce that we are spearheading a transformative journey through our Global Data and Digital Innovation (GDDI) team, focusing on data-centric advanced analytics approaches to facilitate impactful decision-making. As such, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Market Access and Payor Advanced Analytics to join our dynamic Advanced Analytics & Data Science team.

The Director will offer actionable insights based on secondary data and advanced analytics techniques to support Kite’s Health Systems Team. This opportunity involves guiding initiatives focused on Market Access, IDN analytics, Payer Analytics, Pricing Strategy, Treatment Pathway Optimization, and analytics driven by EMR-EHR data. As such, the Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop analytical frameworks, translate data into strategic decisions, identify market trends, evaluate payer landscapes, and optimize pricing models.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Advanced Analytics & Data Science within the Global Data and Digital Innovation (GDDI) team and internally known as the Director of Marketing Sciences, the Director will work in close partnership with diverse stakeholders to support the health systems team. Utilizing a comprehensive skill set encompassing functional expertise, therapeutic area knowledge, communication proficiency, influencing skills, and executive presence, this individual will strive to achieve impactful results.

To foster meaningful connections with stakeholders, we would prefer that this opportunity be located at either Kite’s Santa Monica, California headquarters or our Foster City, CA office (3 days per week onsite required) and will provide a generous relocation package as eligible.

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Market Access and Payor Advanced Analytics Include:

  • Market Access Analytics: Analyze market access landscape (through multiple secondary data sources) to understand potential barriers to access and develop strategies to accelerate cell therapy adoption in the community setting to broaden access and demand.

  • IDN analytics: Analyze physician networks and prescribing patterns within IDN, historical purchasing behavior & formulary decisions. Work with the health systems team, Sales, and Marketing to enhance targeting strategy at key IDNs.

  • Payer Analytics: Analyze payer data would help understand payer segments, their preference for pricing models, risk sharing arrangements and develop customized pricing & contracting strategies for maximizing revenue and patient access.

  • Optimize and lead the utilization of additional RWE data sources (EMR-EHR, etc.) and capabilities to enhance intelligence and reduce data latency. Help define value proposition for Kite’s assets by analyzing data on cost-effectiveness, and long-term outcomes.

  • Enhance the breadth of CART treatment and further unlock potential working with the health systems team and other analytics partners to Identify treatment center sites based on factors like patient potential, existing infrastructure, and willingness to treat CART.

  • Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including Health Systems team, Sales, Marketing, and Commercial teams. Act as an internal consultant, developing strategies to uncover business opportunities and cultivate growth.

  • Partner closely with the US Health Systems team to establish priorities and shared accountabilities, align on key business questions and be integrated in the mission.

  • Strategic Recommendations: Provide strategic recommendations to the Health Systems, Brand and Marketing leads based on advanced analytics insights. Translate complex data analyses into actionable business strategies.

  • In partnership with the US CIAO (Commercial Insights, Analytics and Operations) team and other key stakeholders coordinate and implement cross-functional advanced analytics projects. Ensure that advanced analytics is integrated into strategic planning across related teams.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of commercial data sets and act as a subject matter expert in advanced analytics. Stay current with emerging analytics techniques and industry trends.

  • Analytical Storytelling: Develop and present analytical solutions and insights in a compelling manner to ensure stakeholder buy-in and support for data-driven initiatives.

  • Leadership and Strategy: Provide insightful guidance in advanced analytics, catalyzing the development and implementation of best-in-class strategies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analytics initiatives with overall business goals and facilitate organizational change.

  • Project Management: Assist in budget management, project prioritization, and overall project management to ensure effective implementation of key initiatives. Develop and maintain project timelines and deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

Advanced scientific degree (i.e., MD, PharmD, PhD) and 8+ years of experience

OR

MA / MS Degree and 10+ years of experience

OR

Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of experience

OR

Associate’s Degree and 14+ years of experience

OR

High School Diploma / GED and 16+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or MA / MS degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science etc.) or a related field is preferred (an MBA or business-related qualification is a plus).

  • Extensive experience in advanced analytics with 8+ years of demonstrated achievement in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry.

  • Prior experience in oncology, hematology, and/or rare disease commercial or market access advanced analytics.

  • Ability to influence and facilitate metrically inspired projects end-to-end through collaboration as this role mandates a high degree of collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders including Health Systems team, Marketing, Market Access, Sales, and Commercial Operations.

  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of advanced analytical resources and approaches, a deep customer orientation and focus, and the ability to thrive in a transformational environment.

  • Extensive experience in conducting analysis with large healthcare data sets, including claims, EMR, and other relevant data.

  • Excellent programming experience in Python, R, or a similar language (ability to independently develop, test, and implement data programs).

  • Demonstrated experience in guiding analytics projects related to HCP segmentation, patient journey analysis, market share tracking, and marketing mix analysis.

  • Thorough experience in strengthening and supporting teams to develop end-to-end advanced data solutions and applications at large scale, preferably in a cloud environment.

  • Meaningful leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of data scientists and analysts.

  • Deep understanding of database structures, data wrangling, cleansing, and manipulation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent business acumen and the ability to align data science strategies with overarching business goals.

The salary range for this position is: $201,025.00 - $260,150.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
