Senior Manufacturing Engineer I

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in our state-of-the-art commercial manufacturing facility in Frederick, MD.

Under minimal supervision, we will ask you to take on a leadership role during the manufacturing ramp up phase.  You will work closely with the OE, Site IT, technical services and QC. 

Specific Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for identifying for equipment, process and logistical issues on the floor. 
• Lean and operational excellence champion for manufacturing on the floor.
• Develop tools for issue identification and resolution in a timely fashion.
• Provide solution to identified issues or escalate as appropriate.
• Provide operational expertise to cell therapy specialists and supervisors on the floor.
• Implement solutions to reduce idle time between steps.
• Work closely with MTS, MSAT, IT and QC teams to solve the problems.
• Optimize manufacturing process, KANBAN and sample management.
• Simplify SOPs and batch records working with CTS and MTS staff.

 Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing in biotech/pharma industry Or
• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing in biotech/pharma industry Or
• High School degree with 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing in biotech/pharma industry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possesses good communication skills to promote cross function discussions and communications
• Experience working on cross functional teams to obtain project deliverables
• Experience with OE and Lean principles and investigation/root cause analysis tools
• Experience with MES, CMMS, EBS and cell therapy process.
