Job Description

The Associate Director, Commercial Data Analytics is a key member of the Commercial Analytics team accountable for developing and delivering data driven insights to support Commercial strategic planning and execution. This role will collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, and Market Access leaders to assess effectiveness of business operations and strategy and proactively identify opportunities to enhance Commercial effectiveness. This role reports directly to the Senior Director, Commercial Analytics & Operations and is based in Santa Monica, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead key analytics projects by collaborating with partners to understand business questions, identify and execute appropriate analytical approaches to problem solving, and deliver impactful insights
  • Proactively identify opportunities to conduct data analyses to support strategic planning and opportunity assessment (e.g., channel effectiveness / ROI, customer segmentation, behavioral analytics, etc.)
  • Design and implement global insights dashboards and reporting
  • Develop first-hand knowledge of the data sets and act as a subject matter expert to navigate emerging business needs and the evolving data landscape
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of advanced analytical tools and approaches, a strong customer orientation and focus, and the ability to thrive in a transformational environment
  • Ability to travel ~10-15%

Basic Qualifications:

  • MA/MS and 8 years of experience OR
  • BA/BS and 10 years of experience OR
  • High school diploma and 14 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.) or MBA with a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analytics, marketing science, or a similar role
  • Strong programming experience in Python, R, or a similar language (ability to independently develop, test, and implement data programs)
  • 5+ years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare experience
  • Prior experience in oncology, hematology, cell therapy, or rare diseases strongly preferred
  • Prior experience conducting sales and marketing channel effectiveness, ROI analyses, targeting, and segmentation
  • Understanding of the biopharma commercialization process with knowledge of go-to-market approaches and launch effectiveness measurement
  • Ability to independently conduct various statistical tests like correlation, decision tree, regression, random forest to predict and assess customer behavior in the disease treatment journey (HCPs, patients, etc.)
  • Experience working with healthcare claims data, EMR, etc.
  • High level initiative, ability to multi-task, and passion for asking and answering questions in large datasets
