We are seeking a highly organized and detail orientated Manufacturing Scheduler. The Manufacturing Scheduler will be responsible for planning all aspects of manufacturing production activity including personnel schedule, balancing resource demands, and scheduling production support work and training. The position serves as a driving force in production and will use planning and data analysis tools to implement an efficient personnel schedule optimized to support production with a matrixed workforce. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with production planning and a solid understanding of biologics manufacturing processes and their operational units. Strong time management, analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling and/planning activities required to support the manufacturing and timely release of clinical and commercial materials. Assure communication with Site planning-department and schedule required resources to execute.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to communicate schedule status, potential risks, and mitigation plans.
- Attend/facilitate the daily Tier meetings and Weekly Scheduling Team (WST) meetings to coordinate schedules, identify and resolve resource conflicts.
- Review production orders to determine personnel and operational schedules and commit to manufacturing slots/dates.
- Determine progress of work and completion dates and work with the manufacturing team supervisors to set daily production priorities.
- Coordinate reporting and help to resolve production or material issues by working directly with manufacturing and Supply Chain leadership to identify disruptions, delays, bottlenecks, and reprioritize as needed.
- Monitor and report on KPI’s related to production scheduling such as schedule adherence, on-time delivery, cycle times and resource utilization.
- Translate the high-level lot production schedule to a detailed manufacturing schedule with names and times assigned to the separate tasks.
- Communicate with F&E department on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities and ensure there is no conflict with the manufacturing production schedule or resource conflicts.
- Work with operations team to determine labor and equipment capacity.
- Be part of and interact with project teams to assess the impact of project activities on the personnel and operational schedules.
- Coordinate with Tech Training department to schedule training plans/activities in alignment with manufacturing personnel training needs and training team objectives.
- Provide training and support to back-up and future junior schedulers.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling processes, reduce lead times, and increase production flexibility.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Quality, Facilities/Engineering/Maintenance, MSAT, Supply Chain/Materials Management/Warehouse, and Training.
- Develop and implement planning tools through relevant software such as MS Project, MS Office, scheduling software (e.g., Shiftboard, Deputy, SAP Workforce Management), or Advanced Planning and Scheduling software (SAP IBP/APS).
- Optimize resource utilization (facility/suite, equipment, staff, materials) for efficient operations within manufacturing and with other departments such as QA/QC.
- Support new product introductions by coordinating the manufacturing personnel schedule with leadership and key stakeholders such as F&E, QC, QA, and MSAT.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, biological sciences and 5+ years of related experience planning/scheduling personnel and resources to achieve production goals OR
- Master’s degree in business, supply chain, biological sciences and 3+ years of related experience planning/scheduling personnel and resources to achieve production goals OR
- High School Diploma and 9+ years of related experience planning/scheduling personnel and resources to achieve production goals
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a production control specialist, production scheduler, or production planner in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in use of MRP/ERP and Scheduling systems.
- Demonstrated skills with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet), scheduling software (Shiftboard, Deputy, SAP Workforce Management), Advanced Planning and Scheduling software (SAP IBP/APS), and Enterprise Resource Planning software (SAP S/4HANA).
- Skilled in use of MS Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- ASCM/APICS Certification.
- Knowledge of cGMP, inventory management, and manufacturing.
- Experience applying lean manufacturing concepts and Kanban system.
- Positive and team oriented.

- Demonstrated expertise in scheduling complex and multi-manufacturing platforms with shared workforce.
