The Planisware and Resource Management Lead (Director) is a member of the Portfolio, Project Management and Business Operations team within Development.  The role is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Planisware within Kite Development and utilizes the system to lead Resource Management forecasting and analytics across the Development organization.  The role will: 1) Develop and drive the overall Planisware implementation plan at Kite 2) Represent Kite on the Gilead Planisware team and maintain alignment with overall roll-out across the 2 3) partner with Kite Project Managers to build, implement and maintain Planisware Kite clinical trial templates to support timeline management and reporting 4) utilize business process engineering to assess current methodology for redesign, simplification and automation 4) utilize a data driven approach to create resource forecasting within Planisware by establishing algorithms, metrics, and modeling. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the overall implementation of Planisware within Kite Development, advising leaders on best practices to ensure seamless implementation without impacting project execution.
  • Serve as the central point of contact with internal stakeholders and with external consultants.
  • Define and oversee the road map, refinement, and integration of Planisware to capture key data to enable measurement and analytical model development.
  • Develop and executive communication and training plans.
  • Create and implement study level templates in partnership with Project Management organization.
  • Evaluate existing planning and resource management processes and tools to optimize and simplify.  Identify opportunities to automate processes.
  • Maintain current resource management tool and algorithms until Planisware resource management capabilities implemented.
  • Prepare reports and assessments for management, synthesize, and present data at leadership meetings.
  • Translates business need via technical specifications and establishes Key Performance Indicators with vendors/partners.
  • Oversee the work of external consultants and may manage colleagues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD) and 8+ years of drug development experience OR
  • Master’s Degree in science or health related field and 10+ years of drug development experience OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or health related field and 12+ years of drug development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert at utilizing Planisware for planning, capturing program milestones, and resource management
  • Strong understanding of the research and drug development life cycle processes, roles and systems required.
  • Extensive cross-functional understanding of clinical trial processes including all phases of drug development planning (Candidate Identification through Lifecycle Management)
  • Experience defining and generating business performance metrics.
  • Experience executing Resource management processes across functional lines and proven track record partnering with functional line heads to build resourcing algorithms and analyze data.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks both as an individual contributor and in a team-based setting.
  • History of motivating others to deliver to important milestones while maintaining a positive, transparent, and collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work on complex and multiple projects while exercising critical thinking with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish priorities, operate with a sense of urgency and collaborate (interpersonal, relationship management) with cross functional team members.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills, demonstrates leadership skills, self-motivated and adaptable to a dynamic environment.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in the use of SMARTSHEET, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Spotfire, Tableau, SharePoint, and other organization tools.
  • Must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment. Proven ability to work in a global and high matrixed environment.
