We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Director - Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) for Multiple Myeloma. Internally known as a Thought Leader Liaison Director, this opportunity leads the identification, development, and engagement of key thought leaders to support the activities of current and future commercial strategies for Kite in the US market, in collaboration with our strategic partners.
Reporting into the Executive Director Myeloma Marketing, the Director - TLL for Multiple Myeloma is field-based within the contiguous United States with extensive travel (> 60%) to be expected.
Key Responsibilities of the Director - Thought Leader Liaison - Multiple Myeloma:
Implement and communicate a unified, strategic framework across Kite and act as a strategic partner for U.S. Multiple Myeloma thought leader interactions, ensuring consistency in external engagements and internal communication:
Support the development of strategic plan for collaborating with National Professional Societies including but not limited to ASH, ASCO, ASBMT, and ONS
Participate in cross-functional planning efforts with Commercial and Medical Affairs for all customer interactions at key congresses and meetings (e.g., ASH, ASCO, ASBMT / Tandem) to provide one master plan for customer engagement
Support the efforts of national educational initiatives to include the CAR T Working Group, A-HCP CAR T Steering Committee, etc.
Support the creation, maintenance, and socialization of a thought leader mapping database / engagement plan to ensure one repository for all TL strategies, tactics, and engagements
Shape the annual Thought Leader Engagement Plan to include national thought leaders in multiple myeloma, regional thought leaders, and emerging thought leaders:
Work closely cross-functionally to map and identify US MM thought leaders
Determine national and local program capabilities of KOLs to develop recommendations for Kite programs, as appropriate
Assist the US and Global Marketing Teams on strategic objectives, content, and planning relating to MM TLs and key customer relationships
Assist in creation and implementation of brand advisory boards, including regional, or segment-specific advisory boards to gain deeper insights
Assist global colleagues with the appropriate identification and securing of US physicians for various educational meetings
Provide strategic insight and marketplace information to the organization:
Garner insights on the disease state treatment landscape, cell therapy clinical data and experience, identifying opportunities for Kite to better support patients and their clinicians
Identify and communicate issues, opportunities, and competitive activities through appropriate organizational channels
Work collaboratively with cross-functional field-based partners (existing and future) to ensure aligned customer engagement and “one team” approach:
Distill and regularly present insights and opportunities to marketing and executive leadership to support development of marketing strategy and future promotional initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
Advanced scientific degree (i.e., MD, PharmD, PhD) and 8+ years of experience
OR
Master’s Degree and 10+ years of experience
OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of experience
OR
Associate’s Degree and 142+ years of experience
OR
High School Diploma / GED and 16+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
12+ years of pharmaceutical / biotech industry experience, including prior sales experience in hematology / oncology and specifically in Multiple Myeloma
Thorough understanding of the hematology / oncology clinical landscape, ideally with prior experience in cell therapy or stem cell transplant
Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with oncology and cell therapy opinion leaders
Willingness and aptitude to stay on the cutting edge of data readouts and communicate implications to Kite
Strong ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, exciting work environment
Excellent verbal / written communication skills
Prior leadership experience

The salary range for this position is: $187,000.00 - $242,000.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
