We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a QC Supervisor of Sample Management in our commercial cell therapy production center located in El Segundo CA. In this role, you will work within the Quality Control Department in supporting our efforts in this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy. You will also be responsible for leading lab technician and specialists to manage QC samples from manufacturing for QC testing, to maintain lab equipment operation and to support for business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform QC sample receiving, processing, storage, disposal and distribution to QC labs
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies and materials.
- Sample receiving and shipping internal and external to support clinical and stability studies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on maintenance and operation of equipment to support QC labs.
- Acts as a QC representative for projects or specialized areas in Dept/site meetings
- Resolve data discrepancies and missing information issues for continue quality improvement.
- Revise and review SOPs, work instructions and reports.
- Monitor the GMP systems currently in place to ensure compliance with documented policies.
- Provide on the job training and day-to-day guidance to other staff under supervision
- Moderate process optimization and scientific trouble-shooting skills.
- Uses good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to provide insight into the processes used to achieve results of assigned tasks.
- Gather metric information for use in continuous improvement of areas of responsibility.
- Perform QC review of documentation such as sample COC and logbooks.
- Shift hours are flexible within seven days each week including weekend and holidays.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree OR
- AA Degree and 2+ years’ experience OR
- High School Degree and 3+ years’ experience
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working in Quality Control experience and 1+ in Sample Management or similar experiences in regulated Pharmaceutical/Biotech environments
- Well versed with sample chain of custody, general lab procedures such as operating centrifuges, working within a Biological Safety Cabinet and experience with inventory and laboratory management systems such as LIMS
- Strong knowledge of GMP, GDP, SOPs and quality control processes
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and other applications
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
- Comfortable in a fast-paced Pharmaceutical or Biotech environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
* This Position qualifies for a $8,000 Sign-on Bonus, $4,000 payable within 30 days of start date and $4,000 payable following 6 months of continuous employment. Payments are subject to a 1-year repayment agreement from date of payment issue. Applies to external hires only.
