Job Description:

Gilead’s HR Shared Services Team is looking for an innovative manager to lead our EE Benefits, Data & Compensation HR Shared Services team in Raleigh, NC supporting multiple lines of business across the Americas region.  The HRSS Manager will ensure best practice business processes and workflows are in place within the HR Shared Services (HRSS) team to support the most effective and efficient administration of Gilead’s HR processes and other transactional activity associated with the employee life-cycle to include benefit administration, employee transfers, international transfers, and compensation services.  A successful team member will be extremely detail oriented, flexible with continuous process/system changes, possess a problem-solving mindset and enjoys creating order from ambiguity. Responsible for developing and implementing centralized process of managing benefit administration and data management operations. Ensures compliance on company policies and with country local laws. This position will be responsible for managing team performance, expectations and goals, maintaining singular focus on ensuring and improving customer satisfaction by proactively identifying broader customer impacting issues and implementing solutions to drive quality and productivity, while achieving real time desired service levels along with your stellar team.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the HRSS Tier 2 – Benefits, Employee Data & Compensation team which administers HR cases and processes transactions supporting the employee lifecycle, including but not limited to processing tuition reimbursements, complex benefit inquiries, compensation, terminations, status and position changes, organization and department changes, pending new hires and rehired employees, employee transfers, and employee personal information

  • Review and standardize benefit, employee data and compensation processes across region and globally

  • Responsible to ensure all applicable inquiries are assigned, resolved, and closed properly and in a timely manner

  • Build a high-performance work culture & rewarding work environment leveraging a diverse talent pool

  • Develop business relationships with HR leaders and COEs of key internal stakeholders, vendors & industry groups to assimilate information regarding global shared services trends and their probable effect on service delivery

  • As required manage/partner with outsourced and offshore partners to ensure a seamless and cost-effective customer experience

  • Collaborate with HR technology team to streamline processes, leverage automation and workflow to demonstrate positive business impact

  • Develop team capabilities by providing stretch opportunities to advance the team and provide career development opportunities for team members

  • Identifies and monitors data trends for proactive insights and behaviors to drive self-service and process improvements

  • Leverage data for staffing and resource allocation decisions for optimal performance of systems and make performance improvement recommendations

  • Evaluating new proposals: This position will identify project opportunities that address service gaps, process inefficiencies, or emerging service requirements and develop the business case for new initiatives, and support project management. This person must have strong change management skills and thrive on solving problems that require a new way of thinking

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

  • Successful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Knowledge of HR policies, practices, procedures, laws, and system tools

  • Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, documentation, and presentation skills

  • Data analysis skills, including strong excel skills such as pivot tables and v-lookups (preferred)

  • Innovation, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills

  • Team-oriented mentality, demonstrated multi-cultural skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships at all levels, influence others in a cross-functional environment as well as setting and managing expectations

  • Proven ability to manage confidential information

  • Experience documenting business processes in a visual format (MS Visio preferred) as well as writing detailed business process documents for reference

  • Experience leading business process improvement activities

  • Ability to prioritize workload to complete assigned deliverables within the allocated timeline

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School and Ten Years' Experience OR Associate Degree and Eight Years' Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Six Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Four Years’ Experience

  • A minimum of three years of experience leading and developing teams in Benefits, Payroll, HRIS or Data Management administration or Exit Management

  • Strong verbal, written interpersonal, and telephone communication skills are required.

  • Must possess strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SPHR, PHR, or similar certification a plus

  • Experience with Workday and ServiceNow is highly desired
