Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our EH&S EMEA team for a Manager EH&S EMEA, based at our Dublin Central office. The successful candidate will be responsible for EH&S compliance of all EMEA offices including project support to offices in the region. They will work closely with Corporate EH&S, Facilities, HR & IT teams.

Job Overview

EH&S Programmes, Projects and General Support

  • Provide advice and support to projects to ensure EH&S considerations throughout the project lifecycle. (e.g. review of appropriate documentation)

  • Ensure EH&S requirement considerations for new sites – mobilisation checklist

  • Incident reporting tool & other EH&S tools – promote and manage the use of the tools by staff to include: administrative requirements, training for sites and administrative tasks involved in rolling out updated tool to EMEA region

  • Ensures incidents are reported appropriately and investigations are completed correctly

  • Manage and lead the audit programme – audit prep, audits attendance, leading the completion of post audit actions

  • Manage the Driver Safety Programme – assist with the roll out of the driver safety ‘global/EMEA’ programme and the ongoing management of the programme

  • Manage Ergonomics Program (advice, awareness, data gathering, actions), including programme implementation, where required

  • Manage purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, resolving EH&S payment issues, general administration, in line with budget

Conduct and/or support risk assessments and other consultancy services to control workplace hazards

  • Support and manage interactions between sites in EMEA with consultants and arrange gap assessments, risk assessments, training, programme development, standard operating procedure (SOP) development, ergonomic assessments & general coordination of site visits, actions resolution.

  • Carry out risk assessments (general, back to work, pregnancy, ergonomic), as required, for the Ireland & UK offices

  • Lead EH&S drop & dial in sessions to minimise workplace EH&S issues

Policies, procedures & reporting to ensure compliance

  • Coordinate with guidance of Associate Director, EH&S in ensuring performance, compliance and improving culture across all sites

  • Provide advice/assistance to all sites on health and safety requirements including audit preparation, follow up from audits and policies/SOPs. Track actions and provide updates

  • Coordinate with guidance of Associate Director, EH&S with preparing and updating of EH&S Polices/Programmes/SOPs and distribution of these, as required

  • Complete site Emergency Management plans, as required.

  • Monitor records of EH&S against legal requirements and Document Retention Policy

  • Gather metrics data and ensuring timely submission by sites on EH&S

  • Gather data and coordinate the compiling of electronic reports for incidents, accidents, ill health data (EMEA)

  • Compile and the distribution of General Manager (GM) reports on health and safety for different Countries (general, periodic performance reports)

  • Assist with corporate requirements in environmental sustainability

Initiatives

  • Lead EH&S initiatives and campaigns for EMEA and aligning with other International offices and head office

  • Support EH&S global corporate initiatives and requirements including support of EH&S management systems

  • Manage campaigns that seeks to continuously support improvement of EH&S performance

Communications

  • Manage EH&S content for webpages for all EMEA offices. Develop EH&S webpages for new sites

  • Coordination of EH&S content of the Facilities Handbook and handbook completion (especially new sites)

  • Newsletter – producing alerts and new versions regularly

Person Specification, Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent minimum

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, is required

  • Several years work experience in an EH&S role, with a significant part of this within the private sector and in an office environment

  • Willingness to travel (essential)

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, are required

  • Positive, can do attitude is necessary, and candidate must be a team player
